Event: FIA AGM Luncheon

20th November 2017adminEventNo comments

FIA AGM Lunceon

Following the launch of four brand new Fire Industry Association (FIA). Specialising in detection and alarm qualifications, designing, installing, maintaining, and commissioning of fire detection equipment earlier this year. Eurotech had the pleasure of hosting a table at the FIA AGM Luncheon at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

We hosted a table at the luncheon after the informative AGM, where the main message was training and qualifications. The focus of the event was to discuss the recent addition of the four new FIA qualifications. It was intended to cover what we can do to attract people to the Fire Industry from college/University.

Michael Gregg, the FIA’s Training Manager, stated

“We have designed these courses following the syllabus set by the newly formed Fire Industry Association Awarding Organisation. We have put together a robust set of classroom based learning days that will aid learners in their development. This will not just be in preperation for the examinations, but also in a way that aims to improve their overall knowledge and understanding of the knowledge and concepts presented.”

The Qualifications

One key benefit of the new qualifications will be the level of knowledge and experience of the course trainers, who will be able to guide learners throughout and prepare them for the examinations. The FIA has invested significantly into the development of new and innovative course materials which cover everything studied in the courses, explaining each concept in significant detail. Upon completion of the course, learners should have a much more in-depth knowledge and understanding of their chosen subject area within the fire industry. Whether this is in fire detection and alarm design, installation, maintenance, or commissioning.

At Eurotech, we’re actively searching for initiatives that involve the future and progression of the fire industry. For the benefit of those working within the industry and for the continued progression of the fire safety industry as a whole.
