Since Orient signed up to become our Eurotech range customer for Qatar, they have already received their first orders and the installations have begun in earnest. When I arrived in the capital Doha I was collected from the airport by Eng. Mohammed Fahmy at around 9pm and it was 41c and very humid, which certainly takes a lot of getting used to! The city itself seems to be very busy whatever the time of day with a huge amount of construction going on across the city.
On my first full day there we visited a number of their on-going projects that we look forward to showcasing in future case studies on our website. All of the installations I visited were carried out to a very high standard, as can be seen from the photos.
The photos above are for Tawar Mall which is a 300 shop mall with a hotel and huge food court over 2 levels. Orient has been awarded the installation for all 300 of the retail units. The estimated completion date for the mall to open is end Q4 2016 to early Q1 2017 with one of the units being occupied by Real Madrid FC.
Another mall that we visited was the Al Hazm mall; this is also due to open Q4 2016. As can be seen from the photos below, this is a very impressive development serviced by an underground car park with the interior of the mall fitted out entirely in marble. This has been a 6 year project aimed at the luxury market with no chain stores allowed.
Once we had finished the tour of on-site installations, we returned to the Orient offices where we commenced the training. The practical work was enjoyed by all, and on the whole over the 2 days a lot was covered and learnt including wireless. This is just the beginning of our training with Orient and we are currently in talks with them to return so they can begin installations with even more Eurotech products.
